Backward design on the general unit planner
Choose Understanding by Design as a unit's framework and plan it with a subject, grade, weeks and hours, key concept, statement of inquiry, ATL skills and lessons. Transfer goals, understandings and essential questions go in the unit's own text, since there are no separate Stage 1 fields.
Assessments beside the unit
Design performance tasks with rubrics and checklists in Assessments & Gradebook, and plan the lessons that build toward them inside the unit.
Lessons and resources
Sequence the lessons in a unit and keep files, links and notes in the resource hub, private, shared with your team or open to the school.
