skodle pricing: what a school pays per user, and what drives the cost

skodle pricing is per user, per month, with every feature in every plan: $2 a user on Spark, $3 on Momentum, a custom quote above 500 users, and parents at half the rate. This explains how the tier is set, works through what schools of different sizes pay, says what the subscription does not cover, and makes clear that skodle is a school platform and not a tutoring service with per-session fees.

skodle pricing in one paragraph

skodle is priced per user, per month, and every plan includes every feature. Staff and students cost $2 a user on Spark, which covers up to 150 users, and $3 a user on Momentum, which covers 151 to 500. Parents cost half those rates, $1 and $1.50. Above 500 users the price is a custom quote. Your tier follows your total number of accounts, parents included. Payment is by invoice, there is no card checkout on the site, and a school can cancel by email. The rest of this page explains the arithmetic, works through examples, and says what the subscription does not cover.

What skodle is, and what it is not

skodle is a school platform for IB, Cambridge and CBSE schools: curriculum planning, assessment, portfolios, reports, attendance and communication in one system. A school buys it, and the school pays for its staff, student and parent accounts.

It is not a tutoring marketplace. There are no human tutors to book, no tutoring sessions, no hourly or per-session rates, no booking fees and no per-lesson cancellation charges. A price quoted per session or per hour is not skodle's price, whatever a search result says. If you are a parent looking for the cost of tutoring, this is not the product you want; if you lead or run a school, read on.

The skodle price list

Rates are in US dollars, per user, per month. The only thing that differs between the plans is the rate, which follows the size of the school.

Plan and sizePrice per user each month
Spark, 1 to 150 users$2 for staff and students, $1 for parents
Momentum, 151 to 500 users$3 for staff and students, $1.50 for parents

How the tier is set, and the step at 151 users

The tier is set by the total number of accounts in the school. Staff, students and parents all count. The rate for that tier then applies to every account, not only to the ones above a threshold, so the monthly figure moves in steps rather than along a slope.

A school with 150 accounts is on Spark. Its 151st account moves the whole school to Momentum, and the bill rises by far more than the cost of one extra person. The next section puts numbers on it. Parents count toward the tier at half price, so a school with a large parent body can reach a threshold with fewer staff and students than it expects. If you are close to 150 or 500, ask for a quote at both sides of the line.

What a school pays each month: worked examples

These come straight from the published rates. A quote confirms the exact figure for your own seat counts.

100 staff and students and 40 parents (140 users, Spark)$240
110 staff and students and 40 parents (150 users, Spark)$260
111 staff and students and 40 parents (151 users, Momentum)$393

What drives the cost

Very little, which is the point of pricing per user. The things that move the number are these.

  • The number of accounts, of every role, and where it falls against 150 and 500
  • The share that are parents, who cost half as much but count toward the tier
  • The seat allowance you agree up front: accounts cannot go beyond it, so the bill cannot grow past what you agreed
  • The moment you add seats or move up a tier, which takes effect from the next billing cycle
  • Above 500 users, the terms negotiated for a large school or multi-campus network

What does not change the price

Which modules you switch on does not change it, because every plan includes every feature. The curriculum you teach does not change it either: the published rates are the same for IB, Cambridge and CBSE schools. Nor does using the AI within its daily limit. That leaves the number of accounts, and nothing else on the price list.

What every plan includes

Every plan carries the whole product, so a school does not pay more to unlock a module. That covers curriculum planning, assessment and the gradebook, student portfolios, progress reports and transcripts, attendance, timetable and calendar, the communications hub, behaviour and wellbeing, an admissions enquiry pipeline, IB accreditation evidence, parent and student portals, role-based access with audit logs, and the AI tools. Setup includes a demo on your own curriculum, a student and staff import from a spreadsheet, and support. What each module does, and where it stops, is described on the product pages and in the IB Engine.

What the subscription does not cover

Reading a price list well means knowing what sits outside it. Four things do.

  • Historical records. The import brings in students and staff. It does not bring in historical grades, attendance, portfolio posts or media, comments, reports or fees, and an import has no rollback. Anything beyond people should be agreed in writing, and replacing a gradebook and portfolio app explains how to plan for it
  • Collecting school fees by card. A feature for collecting fees from families by card exists but is not switched on yet. Any charge on those payments would be separate from the subscription, so ask for the terms in writing before you turn it on
  • AI usage. The AI tools are in every plan, with a daily usage limit that depends on the plan, and requests are processed by an external model provider
  • Tax and currency. Rates are in US dollars per user per month, so ask for the invoice to show any taxes that apply to your school

How you pay, change and cancel

Payment is by invoice. Email hello@skodle.com with your numbers of staff, students and parents and the curriculum you run, and skodle confirms the tier and the monthly figure before anything is signed. There is no card checkout on the site today.

You can add seats or move up a tier whenever you grow, billed from the next cycle. Seats you remove also take effect from the next cycle, so a school that shrinks pays less from the following month. To cancel, email the same address: there is no notice period, access runs to the end of the month already paid, and nothing further is charged. Months already billed are not refunded.

When skodle is the wrong answer

A pricing page that ends with the author winning is an advertisement, so here is where the price is not the point. None of this changes what skodle costs; it is about fit.

  • You want tutoring or online lessons for a child: skodle does not sell them
  • You need to buy with a card and start today: once the free trial is over, payment follows a conversation and an invoice
  • You need a self-serve export of everything a school holds: there is no export of a whole school's data
  • You need the official IB route for candidate registration and coursework submission: that stays in the IB's own systems
  • You need years of grade history moved across: it does not import

How to check the number before you commit

Send your seat counts by role and ask for the monthly figure at your size and at the nearest tier boundary. Ask what happens at the seat limit: adding another person is blocked until seats are added, which is how the bill stays where you agreed it. If you expect to collect fees online, ask for those terms in writing first. Then test the product on a real unit of yours: start the free 30-day trial when you register your school or book a demo, see the price list, and compare it with the wider view in our IB software buyer's guide.

Common questions

How much does skodle cost?

skodle is priced per user per month: $2 for staff and students on Spark (up to 150 users), $3 on Momentum (151 to 500 users) and a custom quote above 500, with parents at half the rate. A school with 100 staff and students and 40 parents pays $240 a month, and every feature is in every plan.

Does skodle charge per session or take booking fees?

No. skodle is a school platform, not a tutoring marketplace: there are no sessions to book, no tutor rates and no booking or per-lesson cancellation fees. A school pays a monthly per-user subscription.

Do parents pay for skodle?

Parent accounts are part of the school's subscription, at half the rate: $1 a month on Spark and $1.50 on Momentum. They count toward the total that sets the tier.

Is there a free trial of skodle?

Yes. Every new school starts with a free 30-day trial of every feature, with no card needed. When it ends the admin panel is paused until you choose a plan, and nothing is deleted. skodle also runs a demo on your own curriculum, so the school can judge it on a real unit and its own reporting cycle before agreeing anything.

Are there hidden charges with skodle?

The subscription is the per-user monthly rate, and because every plan has every feature there are no per-module add-ons on the price list. Things outside it are historical records, which do not import, the daily AI limit and, if a school later collects fees by card, a separate charge on those payments whose terms you should ask for in writing.

What happens to the price at 151 users?

The whole school moves from Spark to Momentum. A school with 110 staff and students and 40 parents pays $260 a month on Spark; with one more student it pays $393 on Momentum, because the higher rate applies to every account, not only the extra one.
