Coordinating the programme

The whole-school view: what is mapped, what is missing, what is standardised, and what a visiting team would find. Ordered by exception, because a coordinator's time is the scarce thing.

The command centre surfaces exceptions across the programme rather than presenting every module for inspection. It is deliberately read-only: it tells you where to go, and the work happens where the records live.

Gap

An empty gap report on a new programme means nothing to compare, not no gaps.

/teacher/gaps

Unmapped objectives, under-assessed ones, elements over-used across the school, units with no evidence. Each is counted from approved mappings, so a school that has not finished mapping sees an empty gap report rather than a clean one.

An empty gap report on a new programme means the detector has nothing to compare, not that there are no gaps.

/teacher/standardisation

Sessions with no variance are worth more attention than sessions with a lot. Perfect agreement between three teachers usually means judgements were not entered independently.

Evidence attached through the year costs nothing extra; evidence assembled in the fortnight before a visit has a signature a visiting team recognises. The readiness view is a report you run, not a folder you build.

/teacher/ib-roles

Coordinator and supervisor designations are assigned here, separately from the account role somebody signs in with. Leadership is deliberately view-only — it sees everything and approves nothing, because oversight should not require the ability to change a judgement.

Gate · Designation

A staff accountA named coordinator or supervisor

Designations govern the approvals that genuinely need them — interdisciplinary units and DP draft feedback. Most other approvals are open to teaching staff, so agree internally who does them rather than assuming the software decides.

Who can approve what

Designations are assigned in IB roles and are separate from the account role somebody signs in with.

If something looks empty

The gap detector reports nothing

It compares against approved mappings. With none approved there is nothing to find a gap in.

Coverage is lower than you expect

Check for mappings still sitting as proposed. AI and imported mappings wait for a person; ones a teacher created are approved as made.

Leadership cannot approve something

Intended. That designation grants a whole-school view and no approval powers.

Still stuck?

Bring the unit you are working on. Thirty minutes with someone who has taught the programme.
