Nothing is pulled in from assessment submissions; an entry exists because somebody posted it.
A teacher, admin or student posts an entry: a title, a written body, and one optional photo, video, audio file or document of up to 12 MB. Staff can tag general entries, choosing from a starter bank of labels or typing their own.
Entries are not pulled in from assessment submissions or the evidence store. Each one exists because a person posted it, so a portfolio is only as full as the posting habit of the class.

A light check, not a gate on the student's ownership.
Students add IB portfolio evidence themselves and tag it with approaches to learning skills and learner profile attributes. It reaches the teacher's list as open, and a teacher reviews it.
A student can edit or withdraw an item only while it is open.

A teacher sees what a student added before it is marked reviewed or approved. This is a light check rather than a gate on the student's ownership: the work is still theirs, and once an item has been reviewed the student can no longer edit or withdraw it.

Nothing prompts for a reflection; the school decides when they are written.
A portfolio of finished work shows what a student produced. A reflection is what shows the learning, and it is the part IB requirements rest on.
Students write reflections in their IB portfolio and teachers read them alongside the work. skodle does not prompt for a reflection at the end of a unit, so agree in the school when they are written.

Families can like and comment. The general feed shows text, tags and comments, not the attached file.
Families see their own child's entries in the parent portal as soon as they are posted, and can like and comment. General entries have no per-entry visibility setting and no approval step, so post with that in mind.
The general portfolio feed shows each entry's text, tags and comments, and does not display the attached photo or file. IB portfolio evidence shows images inline. Portfolio media is not embedded in progress reports.

Designations are assigned in IB roles and are separate from the account role somebody signs in with.

If something looks empty
A student cannot edit something they added
It has been reviewed. A student can edit or withdraw an IB evidence item only while it is open.
A parent cannot see the photo on a portfolio entry
The general feed shows an entry's text, tags and comments, not its attached file. IB portfolio evidence does show images.
The portfolio is all artefacts and no reflection
Nothing prompts for reflection. Agree with the class when reflections are written.
A parent asks about another child's work in a shared project
They see their own child only. Group work shows their child's contribution.
