Running a group of campuses

Campus is a real dimension rather than a label, so a group can compare fairly, delegate properly, and report at group level without merging the data.

For Group leadership and campus administrators · reviewed 23 August 2026

/admin/campuses

Campuses belong to a school, and a group may hold several schools. Getting this shape right early matters because students and staff are assigned into it.

A new group sees comparison figures read as unavailable, not as equal.

/admin/campuses

Every student and staff member can carry a campus. Until they do, campus-level views have nothing to separate — which is why a new group sees comparison figures that read as unavailable rather than as equal.

A campus administrator has authority over their own campus and no more. Group leadership keeps the whole view.

Narrowing is explicit and recorded. Some roles are deliberately not narrowable — a group administrator who could be scoped to one campus would be a group administrator in name only.

Excluded

Group reporting rolls up from campus records rather than replacing them.

/admin/campuses

Campuses are compared on the same measures with the same rules. Where a campus has no data for a measure, it returns nothing rather than zero, and is left out of that comparison instead of ranked last on an absence.

Group reporting rolls up from campus records rather than replacing them, so a campus keeps its own view of itself.

Who can approve what

Designations are assigned in IB roles and are separate from the account role somebody signs in with.

If something looks empty

Campus comparison shows nothing

Students are probably not assigned to a campus yet. With everybody unassigned there is nothing to compare.

A campus shows a dash rather than zero

Intended. It has no data for that measure, which is different from measuring zero.
